Events: Vintage quiz
Can you spot the deliberate mistake in this photo ? You will need to learn about vintage clothing if you are thinking of coming to our Vintage Quiz which is being held over the Food Festival weekend at Vintage Vision.
PS. The top has a 1970s 'flying saucer' design and the skirt is a 1950s 'Rockabilly' type garment.

Events: Abergavenny Vintage Fayre
Just to remind you of the great fun we all had at our last Vintage Fayre which, I am sure, will be surpassed on Sunday, 7th August, when we will repeat the experience. We have more stalls than ever this year so bring plenty of cash because you are going to need it.
This lady and her two friends bought several items of vintage clothing on Saturday and looked fantastic in all of them. I believe that some of the clothes were worn at the vintage dance on Saturday evening which was organised by Blaenavon Heritage Committee.
Lunchtime was great fun when we went in the hall for a wartime treat. We had spam sandwiches and marmite on plain white bread - not very healthy but certainly filling. I have lipstick on my paper cup and sandwich due to the thick layers I wore to try and attract a passing soldier but no luck !
However the day was saved when we later ate Rabbit Stew and fried Jam sandwiches cooked by Franco of The Walnut Tree fame.Volunteers: Alison
Alison, another of our volunteers, whose special interest is in restoring furniture and linen, wore a very smart outfit to help in the Vintage Vision shop in Blaenavon on Saturday.
Vintage stock: Sailor suit
The beautiful lady in the photograph wore one of our vintage items to walk around town and certainly attacted a lot of attention.
Volunteers: Elizabeth
Elizabeth, one of Vintage Visions volunteers, looked amazing at the Blaenavon Heritage weekend and, although looking very pensive on this photo, had a fantastic time as we all did.
Events: Blenavon Heritage Weekend
This friendly couple had made a special effort to look the part at the Blaenavon Heritage weekend last Saturday and Sunday and don't they look great.

Vintage stock: Ascot Coat
How about this wonderful polyester coat labelled Ascot Model. It is a very vibrant colour of dark turquoise, has double buttons on the front and two pockets. At £45 in Vintage Vision it is a great buy.
RODENE TWEED COAT - 1029
Unfortunately, even though it is officially summer, we still get quite cold spells and it is always prudent to have at least one warm coat to hand. This Rodene tweed coat is especially adaptable to all weathers and cost £50 at Vintage Vision.
MISS DANIMAC
It isn't very often that you see a mac in such condition as this one and considering it is from the 60s this one is a prime example. It is in a coffee and cream colour with a detachable tie belt and button front. It is a small garment and is available for £40 at Vintage Vision.
PS. More rain is forecast !

BLACK AND WHITE
This an original 1970s dress which I bought recently but most of all I love these original Mary Quant snakeskin shoes. You would feel groovy in this outfit when parading at a disco wouldn't you ?
BIBA-STYLE BROOCHES
These are four biba-style brooches which I bought recently at a vintage fayre and I just love the quirkiness of them don't you ?
NATIONAL CHILDBRITH TRUST
No folks, it's not halloween. As part of our re-cycling effort at Vintage Vision, I was asked to knit some 'boobs' for the National Childbirth Trust and had great fun in doing so. They are made from entirely re-cycled materials and are used to show pregnant mothers how to breast feed their babies. Apparently the more colourful the better which is just as well. If anyone would like the pattern to help your local Childbirth Trust please let us know and I will forward you a copy. Happy knitting !
