Another pretty floral pattern maxi dress. This one is in black polyester with gold and dark red flowers. It is priced at £25 and looks to be around a size 16. It has three covered buttons on the front and also covered buttons on the cuffs.

This photograph shows the intricate neckline and pleating on this gorgeous Carnegie of London maxi dress. It is in burnt orange and is made of a polyester type material. It is approximately a size 12 and looks much better when worn than on the photograph so pop into Vintage Vision and try it on.
This very stylish suede and fur 'Skater' style coat will be in Vintage Vision shop on Friday. It is a mid-tan colour and the lining, cuffs and hem are in dark brown. It is a size 10/12. The fastenings on the front are paticularly attractive as is the neat belt on the back.
We had great fun in the 70s with toys such as Paddington Bear, Emu and Cindy. However, apparently, the most sought-after game was Ker-Plunk which involved moving sticks until marbles were released. Jim Henson's Muppets were a very close second and as many of these toys were related to television programmes they got plenty of advertising. Hundreds of board games were also available including 'On the Buses', 'Dad's Army' and 'The Wombles of Wimbledon'.
With all the colds and flu around this winter why not take a look at our fantastic range of beautiful vintage handkerchiefs. These are so elegant and vary from pretty floral patterns to exquisite lace ones and look so much better than tatty tissues !

Smocking was extremely popular in the 50s and I remember my mother spending hours smocking dresses for me and my sister. This little girl (bet she was a right little madam) looks almost angelic in her new dress. Pattern available in Vintage Vision.
It isn't very often that we get a Shearling jacket in such good condition as this one and we could have sold it a hundered times or more if it had been a smaller size than a 16. The label reads International Suede Coat and it is for sale for £60.
This cosy 1950s full length 'Teddy Bear' coat is extremely heavy and therefore amazingly warm. It is a full length coat which was processed by Martins of London and is size 14/16. It is for sale in Vintage Vision at only £80.

This beautiful dark blue velvet dress with its added tartan band would make a perfect Hogmanay outfit. You could be ringing out the old and ringing in the new looking every bit the part.

With the cold spell we have sold several fur coats this winter with everyone wanting to keep warm. This amazing coat has just arrived in stock and looks very elegant when worn. However, I don't think it will be available for very long so run rabbit run !
Our current window display done by Sarah one of our young volunteers which features a fantastic 'going-out' outfit for the festive season. The red dress and fur cape make a great outfit and the pearls complete the seasonal look.

Vintage clothing is very popular in Canada and America and this shop in Toronto, aptly named Lost and Found Vintage, is one of many. I love the way they use chains to hang the clothes from and if you think the window is a little overcrowded you should see inside the shop.

Whilst clearing out a cupboard yesterday I came across this pretty silver charm bracelet that I had as a teenager. There are over 20 charms on the bracelet and most of them were given to me for birthdays, Christmas etc by friends and family. My favourites were the little church with the opening door revealing a kneeling bride and groom and the tiny pair of slippers. I can remember not being allowed to wear it when I was an office junior as it made a jangling noise on my typewriter keyboard.

With hindsight perhaps the mirror wasn't the best place to photograph this fantastic purple party dress but I just had to do it straight away so you didn't waste a moment in seeing it. As you can see it has very unusal sleeves and looks amazing. Come in and try it on before accepting any more invitations!
This beautiful Carnegia dress in stunning red and black came in to the shop yesterday and is a great contribution to the store. It has a divine black velvet bow at the neckline with black buttons on the front. It is a size 8 to 10 and will be a wow at any Christmas event.

It will cost £25 for the 4 sessions and you can put your name down (with a £5 deposit) at the shop which is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 10 am and 4 pm.
It would be great if you could bring with you any pieces of material, silks/cottons, wools, buttons and anything else (eg fastenings)to the workshops that you want to use for your projects, although there will also be materials available for you to buy or swap with others.

I bought these very elegant hats from a vintage store in Detroit, Michigan. They had a wonderful selection of hats and I could certainly have bought more if my luggage allowance was greater. I love the one with the feather and the small cresent shaped one but my favourite has to be the Jacquie Kennedy sytle hat in white and yellow polka-dot.

We spent two days in Toronto, Canada, where I found a delightful vintage shop and bought this trendy crocheted top in different shades of pink. It has long sleeves which become wide at the cuffs and looks great with today's fashionable jeggings.

"Looks like its all over for Vintage Vision for a while now that their fashion extravaganza was such a fantastic success, they will all need a well earned rest. "
"Oh no not likely they have another swishing evening planned for Wednesday, 3rd November, 2010 - that's where you pay a fiver, take two items of clothing to swap and get a glass of wine into the bargain and shortly after that it will be party time as they celebrate their first year of trading"

Getting excited about next week's fashion show - and the loan of one of the original dresses from Cliff Richards' 'Summer Holiday' film! Took one of our young volunteers, Amy, out to take a trip on a London bus and recreate the feel of the film. Thanks to Londonbus4hire.com for being so kind - doesn't Amy look fab!

We are very fortunate to have been donated this beautiful bed cover. The story goes that it was made as a wedding present for a couple in the 1930s but was never used. It is in perfect condition and is in a pretty shade of pink. The embroidery work on it is out of this world and it also has delicate fringing around the edge.
The lady who originally bought this charming dress from us has brought it back into the shop after having great pleasure wearing it. It has now been seen by 'Anyone Who Matters in the London area' and she has kindly returned it to Vintage Vison so that someone else can have as much fun wearing it as she has. It is approximately size 10/12, is priced at £60 and is in perfect conditon. Just right for those cocktail parties !
What fantastic colours are in this wedding cake and fairy cakes at the wedding of Mat and Mia last Saturday. Mia is part of Used and Abused Vintage Clothing and looked absoultely stunning at her wedding. Congratulations to you both x
Vintage Vision would like to congratulate Cloth Magazine on its first birthday. Well done !
We sell Cloth Magazine in Vintage Vision and as a keen reader myself I find it most useful in helping with stitches etc. and ideas of things to make. Their projects, techniques , ideas and inspiration are always maximum value for money.
Cloth issue 5 is out now and is full of autuminal projects for you to get your teeth into so hurry along to Vintage Vision and buy one - I already have mine !
