This awesome doctor's bag is one of my favourite items to come into Vintage Vision for a long time. I love the shape of the bag and am also very curious about the initials on it. Are you or do you know a doctor with the initials 'DIT' - would love to hear from you if you do! The bag is in excellent condition for age apart from the central lock is broken but all the parts are provided to repair it. A great collectors item.

The lady who donated this gorgeous Laura Ashley dress to the shop told us it reminded her of summer evenings, walking on grass, floppy sun hats, men in floral shirts and white sports cars - after all it was the 1970s.
The dress with this fascinating history is being sold in Vintage Vision for £25, was made in Wales and is size 12.

What a fantastic idea this is and so clever. This customer makes jewellery wedding bouquets from recycled broken jewellery and they are amazing. She made her first bouquet for her own wedding but already has several orders for more. I was really grateful to have the opportunity to see this and will now keep any broken jewellery for her use.

After a very successful Hen Party which was held in our Abergavenny shop when the bride-to-be and her friends enjoyed an afternoon of eating, drinking and trying on vintage clothing, we were invited to attend a Vintage Afternoon Tea in the Ararat Baptist Church Hall on Saturday, 15th October. As you can see we had a great time especially when the 1940s trio The Siren Sisters sang songs from that era. Thank you to all involved for all their hard work and cake eating efforts - not too difficult!

Just to remind you of the great fun we all had at our last Vintage Fayre which, I am sure, will be surpassed on Sunday, 7th August, when we will repeat the experience. We have more stalls than ever this year so bring plenty of cash because you are going to need it.

This lady and her two friends bought several items of vintage clothing on Saturday and looked fantastic in all of them. I believe that some of the clothes were worn at the vintage dance on Saturday evening which was organised by Blaenavon Heritage Committee.

Lunchtime was great fun when we went in the hall for a wartime treat. We had spam sandwiches and marmite on plain white bread - not very healthy but certainly filling. I have lipstick on my paper cup and sandwich due to the thick layers I wore to try and attract a passing soldier but no luck !

However the day was saved when we later ate Rabbit Stew and fried Jam sandwiches cooked by Franco of The Walnut Tree fame.

No folks, it's not halloween. As part of our re-cycling effort at Vintage Vision, I was asked to knit some 'boobs' for the National Childbirth Trust and had great fun in doing so. They are made from entirely re-cycled materials and are used to show pregnant mothers how to breast feed their babies. Apparently the more colourful the better which is just as well. If anyone would like the pattern to help your local Childbirth Trust please let us know and I will forward you a copy. Happy knitting !

Thanks for letting me join your group. I visited the Abergavenny shop last week and thoroughly enjoyed my time in there. So did my friend Dawn who bought a delightful navy silk kimono style dressing gown. We attended the Swishing night on Wednesday, it was our first experience of swishing and we had a ball. Dawn was lucky with her finds. I was not so lucky but enjoyed the evening all the same. We shall recommend it as a good night to our friends and we shall return without a doubt. Best wishes to everyone we met.

Hi Folks! Sorry I haven't been blogging for quite a while but I have been away on holiday. However, while I was absent, we had some fantastic donations in the shop and one of them is this very eye-catching seersucker dress in very plae blue/green. It is a beautiful dress with it's secretary bow neckline and we teamed it up with one of our amazing belts to complete the look. At £15 is a real bargain !

The nautical styling of this coat caught the eye of this pretty young girl when she visited our shop in Hay and resulted in her mother buying it for her. Another outfit which she liked was the cream and blue floral dress and jacket on the rail behind her.

This very unusual cream dress with its contrasting pockets was bought by the girl in the photograph. She loved the dress and was interested to learn that it had been bought in America.

The sun brought these two lovely ladies in to our pop-up shop in Hay last Friday but unfortunately they almost ended up not being friends as they argued over the outfits. The girl wearing the cream Frank Usher dress eventually won and was very pleased with her purchase.

We had a great time at Abergavenny Steam Rally over the Bank Holiday weekend even though the weather was wet on the Monday. We met lots of interesting people and our dressing-up box caused a great deal of amusement (mainly with the men) as they tried on our vast array of wigs. Our attractive young models did a fantastic job as they paraded in our vintage clothes and had their photographs taken with some of the vintage vehicles.

This very trendy 60s woollen trouser suit was donated to Vintage Vision yesterday and we all just love it. The cape top with its side fastening buttons is a special feature and as its made of pure new wool it is very snug and cosy. Pop in and try it on - its fantastic.
